Slowly but surely, Micah Parsons may be learning how his employer handles offseason “big, big moves.”
The Miami Dolphins have acquired Rams cornerback Jalen Ramsey via a blockbuster trade – at a very reasonable price – and Dallas Cowboys star Parsons seems displeased.
The Cowboys “Lion-backer” Parsons jumped on to Twitter (as he so frequently does) with a simple but firm three-word response, writing simply …
“Man, WTF!! Nvm …”
That would be “What the F***” … and “Never mind,” translated.
It so happens that the tweet from Parsons, maybe the NFL’s greatest young defensive player, caught the attention of Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill, who was the headline acquisition for the Dolphins last offseason. … 2022’s version of the 2023 Ramsey move.
“Stop all the crying bro,” Hill tweeted in response to Parsons.
“Man Im so sick of Miami!” Parsons retorted, and of course it was all in fun.
But here’s what’s not fun: Being “sick of Miami” makes sense because the Dolphins continue to “empty the bucket” (in the words of Cowboys owner Jerry Jones) in pursuit of a title, while …
The Cowboys are on the record as saying they want to remain at a high plateau (12-5 for each of the last two seasons) while also keeping balance in their future salary caps.
So … The Dolphins get a star by sending a third-round pick and tight end Hunt Long to the Rams in the deal.
And Micah joins Cowboys Nation is getting … frustrated.
At least Parsons is truly passionate about roster-building, even if he remains a bit naive.
Meanwhile, the trolls and the conmen also wanted a piece.
“Jalen Ramsey will give up some big plays … but I sure wish Jerry Jones had seen fit to trade for him. Cowboys have a potentially season-wrecking need at corner,” Skip Bayless tweeted.
Bayless should know better, but doesn’t.
Parsons doesn’t yet know better … but someday will.
