Patrick Kane has re-signed with his former teammate and the debate is now over

It appears GM Chris Drury’s window of signing Patrick Kane has closed as according to NHL Insider Pierre LeBrun, the winger is staying put.

Patrick Kane will remain signed onto the Yzerplan for another season in Detroit, which means another year with Dylan Larkin and Alex DeBrincat.

DeBrincat probably helped sell Detroit to Kane originally and despite them being out of a Wildcard spot in the playoffs in 2023-2024, perhaps he feels he can be successful in Detroit this year.

In 51 games with the Detroit Red Wings, he put up 47 points(20 G, 27 A) and his linemates were Larkin and DeBrincat.

Patrick Kane’s last deal with the Red Wing was for 1X$2.75 M and we imagine he should fetch a little more than this, given his production points.

“Patrick Kane and the Red Wings closing in on a one-year deal.”

Kane is still cup-hunting and obviously sees something in the Yzerplan or else he would’ve returned to New York.
