“I fantasize about it all the time”- Steph Curry mentions thing he covets doing on the basketball court

Steph Curry wished he could play above the rim — something the NBA’s greatest sharpshooter has been “fantasizing” about all the time by his admission. The 4x NBA champion admitted as much in the latest episode of ‘Heat Check’— a podcast venture that focuses on the Currys. The Golden State Warriors superstar linked up with his father and the co-host, Dell.

When asked if there is one thing he covets on the hardwood, Curry responded that he indeed wants to play above the rim, citing his teammate Jonathan Kuminga as an example of a player who could do that.

“I’m still 35 years old, 15 years in the league. Court in my backyard. It’s always at eight feet. The other day, Jonathan Kuminga and I were at a pickup game, and I threw a backdoor alley and I threw it to the corner backboard. I thought, ‘Like there’s no way he can get it, and he got it.’ I got home that afternoon and let’s throw it up there, let me see what it feels like if I could be up here on a 10-foot rim.”

Curry said he always fantasized about playing above the rim

It’s not often that Curry is seen dunking. He is one of those players who usually catches fire from any point downtown, making the dunk the least-used weapon in his arsenal. His frame makes it challenging for the guard to attack the rim and play above it, but given the 36-year-old’s underrated musculature and athleticism, it’s perhaps a matter of time before we see him gear up for a dunk sometime next season.
