This weekend, the World Junior Summer Showcase is taking place, of which the Blackhawks have 3 prospects participating. They hope not only to gain international notoriety but will attempt to make the team.

Oliver Moore will be joining AJ Spellacy this weekend, in Plymouth, Michigan to take on the world. Spellacy joins Team USA after turning down a chance to play college football, the power-forward was impressive in the OHL scoring 38 points( 11 G, 27 A) with the Windsor Spitfires. Here’s hoping he can develop, and contribute at an NHL level in the next few years.

Team USA would play scrimmages against Finland, Sweden, and Canada of which they will take on a fellow Blackhawks prospect in Finland. 19-year-old Janne Peltonen will join Finland to take on Moore and Spellacy this weekend, the 7th round, 195th overall forward played in the most recent World Junior’s tournament scoring 4 points( 2 G, 2 A) .

After today, the 2024 World Junior Championships will take place on December 26th, 2024, and finish on January 5th, 2025.
