Warriors schedule for in-season tournament announced

Buckle up, basketball fans! The NBA’s in-season tournament is back for its second season, and this time it’s bigger, bolder, and has a title sponsor worthy of the spectacle: The Emirates NBA Cup.

Last year’s inaugural tournament was a surprising success, despite the Golden State Warriors’ early exit. This year, the Dubs are back with a vengeance, hoping to avoid the ‘Lakers Curse’ that saw last year’s champs stumble after their tournament victory.

The 2024 Emirates NBA Cup promises high-octane action from the get-go. The league is split into six groups of five, battling it out on four designated game nights. The six group winners, plus two wild card teams, will then clash in a single-elimination tournament, culminating in a thrilling Las Vegas finale.

The Warriors’ quest for the Cup begins on November 12th against the Dallas Mavericks, marking Klay Thompson’s much-anticipated return to the Bay Area. The Dubs then host the Memphis Grizzlies before hitting the road to face the New Orleans Pelicans and Denver Nuggets. With games on TNT and ESPN, the spotlight will be shining bright.

The stakes are high. Every win and loss counts towards the regular season standings, adding an extra layer of intensity to the tournament. For those who don’t make the championship, additional games will ensure an 82-game season for all.

With a star-studded cast of players, a revamped format, and a championship showdown in the entertainment capital of the world, the Emirates NBA Cup is set to deliver a basketball bonanza. Will the Warriors rise to the occasion and claim the Cup? Or will another team seize the glory? The countdown to tip-off has begun.
