The Buffalo Bills have seen significant changes to their squad with the departure of leading wide receivers Gabe Davis and Stefon Diggs. The team is now pinning its hopes on rookie Keon Coleman, the No. 33 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft from Florida State, to help fill the void.
Known for his engaging personality, Coleman has quickly become a fan favorite in Buffalo. Should he secure the WR1 spot in his debut season, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Coleman jerseys rivaling those of quarterback Josh Allen at Highmark Stadium.
In a recent discussion on MadDog Sports Radio, Josh Allen expressed confidence in the rookie’s abilities, noting that Coleman brings a distinct skill set to the field. “He’s going to be an exciting player for us, and I think he’s going to help us win football games,” Allen remarked. He highlighted Coleman’s capability in making back-shoulder catches, strength at the point of reception, and commitment to blocking in the run game as key attributes that set the newcomer apart.
While Allen acknowledged the typical growing pains of first-year players, he is optimistic about Coleman’s potential for a long-standing career in the NFL. In his final college season, Coleman impressed with 50 receptions for 658 yards and led the ACC with 11 touchdown catches and 300 punt return yards. As Coleman steps onto the NFL stage, the Bills anticipate that his transition will be marked by both immediate impacts and the inevitable adjustments required of a rookie in professional football.
