Dawuane Smoot will be placed on I.R.
Buffalo Bills wide receiver Keon Coleman is still having tests to determine the severity of an injury he suffered to his wrist/hand area on Sunday, according to head coach Sean McDermott.
The rookie was injured on the team’s final drive against the Miami Dolphins when he attempted to catch a pass downfield, but was hit by Dolphins safety Jordan Poyer.
Poyer was flagged 15 yards on the play for unnecessary roughness due to making helmet-to-helmet contact with Coleman.
McDermott also said that defensive lineman Dawuane Smoot will have wrist surgery this week and then be placed on Injured Reserve, causing him to miss at least the next four games.
Wide receiver Amari Cooper (wrist), CB Christian Benford (wrist), and FB Reggie Gilliam (hip), who all missed Sunday’s 30-27 win are all considered day-to-day, according to McDermott.
The Bills travel Indianapolis to face the Colts next Sunday. The NFL trade deadline is 4 p.m. ET Tuesday.
