NFL Power Rankings: Surging Bills pile up wins in bid to take top playoff seed in AFC

The Buffalo Bills (7-2) are headed to Indianapolis to face a Colts team (4-5) that’s struggling to figure out what to do at quarterback.

Despite Sunday’s win against the Dolphins, the Bills continue sit at No. 3 in the latest power rankings. But it’s still early.

Here’s what NFL power ranking experts are saying about Sunday’s 1 p.m. game at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Bills’ average rank this week: 3 (last week: 3.36)

The Sporting News

Bills ranking: 3 (No change)

Colts ranking: 22 (⬇ one spot)

Bills: The Bills are digging deep to use all their key weapons around Josh Allen. They need to keep leaning on their loaded offense to offset their massive problems in stopping running backs in any which way.

Colts: The Colts made a hasty decision to sit Anthony Richardson because they need to be a run-heavy team with him and Jonathan Taylor to be most complementary to the defense. Joe Flacco’s chuck-and-duck routine isn’t right for this team.

The Arizona Republic

Bills ranking: 3 (No change)

Colts ranking: 18 (⬇ two spots)

Bills: The Bills have won four straight and sit comfortably atop the AFC East, where the next closest team (Jets) has three wins.

Colts: Entering the Sunday Night Football game against the Vikings, every Colts game this season had been decided by six points or fewer.
