The Buffalo Bills are taking this weekend off with their bye week but they should be on the lookout for specific games that could affect them in the AFC standings. They are one game out from the #1 seed after defeating the Kansas City Chiefs last Sunday and they are completely running away with the AFC East.
It’s no longer a matter of if, but a matter of when they will earn a playoff berth this season. They have yet to lose in the division and they have won six straight games since Week 6. All the vibes in Buffalo are fantastic. While it will be a boring week for Bills fans, sometimes that’s a great thing to have.
In addition to the Bills, the New York Jets also have a bye while the New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins face off against each other. The Dolphins are in second place in the division, but have a 4-6 record and they were swept by the Bills (yet again). Maybe Miami makes a comeback from the hole that they dug early on in the season, but no more than a wild card spot.
The Patriots are one game behind the Dolphins at 3-8 and even though Drake Maye looks like a rising star in the making, the roster is too limited to make any damage. However, division games are always tough and Bills fans may want to be rooting for New England this Sunday.
Bills need to hope Patriots can upset Dolphins in Week 12
CBS Sports analyst Garrett Podell published a list of predictions for Week 12 and one of those predictions was the Patriots and Drake Maye defeating the Dolphins, despite Tua Tagovailoa having never lost to the Patriots.
That’s right, Bills fans, you should be rooting for New England against Miami. Why? It’s due to the fact that if all AFC East teams outside of Buffalo only have four wins or less, it just continues to separate Buffalo from them who have nine wins. Not to mention, the Dolphins losing to a rebuilding team would add the cherry on top.
It won’t feel right and it might be painful. However, the Patriots defeating the Dolphins is what is best for the Bills while they are on a bye week.
