Buffalo Bills defense could not bring their A game against the Los Angeles Rams despite quarterback Josh Allen’s historic game.

In their last game, the Buffalo Bills won in epic fashion after superstar quarterback Josh Allen showed why he is one of the best football players in the NFL. Creating history while leading his team to a rout were enough for fans as they are continuing to see excellence from the 28-year-old.
In that game, he barely cracked 150 total yards, but threw two TDs, ran for one and received one for which he emphatically leaped into the snow-covered end zone. Tonight, there was no snow, as they were playing in sunny California against the Los Angeles Rams.
For any quarterback, that should mean a good day, which Allen had, as he threw for 342 yards and ran in another 82 of them. In those team leading ground yards, he also managed to break into the end zone three times.
Coupled with his three touchdowns through the air, it helped him become the first quarterback in NFL history to have three passing as well as three rushing scores. He alone accounted for 36 points and kicker Tyler Bass kicked in 6 more to take up the score to 42 points.
So far this season, the Buffalo Bills have won anytime they have scored 30 or more points. Except, those 42 points were not enough as the Los Angeles Rams scored two more to ice the game 44-42. Quite an abomination considering what Josh Allen did for his team all night.
If not an early second quarter blocked punt from which the Rams scored, the game could have helped the Bills cement a playoff bye. But instead, now they have to go back home knowing they will face the best team in the NFL next week.
Fans rip into Buffalo Bills defense after not helping Josh Allen seal win
The problem with that upcoming game is that what fans saw from the Buffalo Bills defense tonight was not what they expected. The only time this defense gave up more than 30 points this season was in another loss.
Otherwise, they have been splendid all season. But giving up 44 points to a Rams offense in warm weather seemed to them as if the defense took it casually today.

They wasted a brilliant chance to confirm a playoff bye against a team that had not been playing consistently all season. But more importantly, could not give their team leader the fitting ending to a brilliant performance.
Josh Allen has led this team well all season. But if his defensive players have an off night like this during the playoffs, they can kiss their surprising season goodbye. Even his head coach has to go over the calls in this game, as he had his fair share of contributions into this loss, especially when it mattered.
