Josh Allen has a hilarious way of trying to keep offensive coordinator Joe Brady all to himself amid head coaching rumors

The Buffalo Bills offense has been one of the best in the NFL this season, and the guy in charge of it all, offensive coordinator Joe Brady, is one of the hottest head coaching candidates out there.

Josh Allen, who has long been a proponent of Joe Brady dating back to his time as the quarterbacks coach before taking over as interim offensive coordinator after Ken Dorsey was fired, was very tongue-in-cheek about keeping Brady all to himself this offseason.

Allen was asked about Brady and what he contributes to the offense and, sarcastically, he said “Nothing. He he’s done nothing for us. Teams should stay away from him” with a laugh. “No, he’s been fantastic. Coming into a situation last year that was — it’s not easy to switch play callers mid-year — and he came in and, from that day on, if you look at our splits, our success that we’ve had as a team, it’s noticeable.”

“He’s one of the most positive guys in the building. He’s always got juice and energy for the guys. I think that’s something that we love and appreciate about him, and he’s as real as they come,” Allen continued.

Allen has the highest of opinion about his offensive coordinator, as does head coach Sean McDermott. When speaking with CBS, McDermott said “these opportunities don’t come up every year. I would fully endorse Joe [Brady] and support him in any way I can.”

Of course McDermott would support Brady if he has an opportunity to chase down a head coaching job, if that’s what Brady wants to pursue, but secretly you have to think that McDermott desperately wants to keep Brady in the building. Continuity is huge, and what Brady is accomplishing when paired with Josh Allen will be hard to duplicate if he were to leave the organization.
