Celebrating Animal Moms At The Houston Zoo This Mother’s Day

Another fascinating feature is Tino, the 1-year-old Masai giraffe, who stands 10 feet 7 inches tall. Despite his large stature, he is still growing and sometimes finds himself too short to access the public feeding platform, sparking curiosity and laughter from visitors. Masai giraffes exemplify unique caregiving roles; their calves stand within 30 minutes of birth, learning to navigate their world with guidance from their mothers while also developing independence.
