Governor Gordon’s Wild Bison License Donation: A Unique Opportunity for Wildlife Conservation

CHEYENNE – In an exciting move for wildlife conservation, Governor Mark Gordon is once again donating a wild bison license for the seventh consecutive year. This initiative emphasizes the importance of sustainable hunting practices while providing a unique opportunity for residents of Wyoming to engage in wildlife conservation efforts.

The license will be made available through a random raffle exclusively for Wyoming residents. Starting from May 1 and ending on June 14, tickets can be purchased for just $10 via the Wyoming Game and Fish Department's website. Governor Gordon highlighted, “The chance to experience a wild bison hunt and also support conservation efforts is a win-win proposition. I am happy to once again offer Wyoming hunters this unique opportunity.”

Taking a closer look at the raffle, each participant can only purchase one ticket, thus ensuring that the chances are fairly distributed among all eligible Wyoming residents. The lucky winner will not only receive the bison license for the 2025 hunting season but will also need to purchase additional stamps and applicable licenses required by state law.

While the appeal for bison hunting grows, the funds obtained from the raffle sales will directly benefit the Wyoming Governor's Big Game License Coalition. This initiative plays a crucial role in sustaining the state's wildlife, further fuelling efforts to strike a balance between hunting and conservation.

However, participating in this raffle isn’t as simple as it sounds. Applicants must meet specific criteria which include being eligible to hunt big game in Wyoming and fulfilling all hunter education requirements. This ensures that only responsible hunters participate in the bison hunt, reflecting a commitment to the ethical treatment of wildlife.

As the June 13 closing date for the raffle approaches, anticipation builds among prospective ticket holders. The announcement of the raffle winner will take place on June 23, sparking excitement not just for the winners but also within the larger community concerned about Wyoming's wildlife.

Overall, this initiative not only provides a unique hunting opportunity but also reinforces the importance of wildlife conservation in Wyoming. The question remains, how will the proceeds from this raffle influence the conservation efforts in the state? We invite you to share your thoughts and insights in the comments below.
