Salisbury Zoo Bids Farewell to Beloved Andean Bear Chaska
SALISBURY, Md. – Recently, the Salisbury Zoo has been in the spotlight for a significant and emotional event: the retirement of Chaska, their cherished 15-year-old Andean bear. He stated, "Unfortunately, because of the size of the zoo, we only have really one location for a new bear exhibit, and that’s where the current bear exhibit is. So, once she leaves, we’ll basically start our design and construction process and hopefully within the next 2 years or so we’ll have this brand-new state-of-the-art facility."
