Nick Bosa’s status for Sunday’s matchup against the Buffalo Bills is up in the air, but that didn’t stop the pass-rusher from giving his evaluation of Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen earlier in the week.
For the most part, Bosa heaped praise onto Allen and his game. He also took a bit of a jab at Allen when he commented about Buffalo’s quarterback flopping a lot.
“He can do it all,” Bosa told the media. “He can go through reads [and] make any throw. [He can] look people off, run for first downs and run people over. He flops a lot, he slides, so it’s tough. You never know when to hit him or not. But he’s as good as it gets.”
Bosa is currently dealing with hip and oblique injuries. When asked about the progress he has made toward a return, Bosa said that he’s feeling a lot better but is still not
“I’ve made a good amount of progress, for sure,” Bosa told the media. “It’s feeling a lot better. Still need to get better before I’m ready to go so this week will be big and I’ll know a lot more in the next couple of days.”
Bosa is a difference-maker for San Francisco. In 10 games this season, he has registered seven sacks. Although Bosa noted that he has made progress, he has not participated in practice on Wednesday or Thursday, so it seems like he is trending toward not playing against the Bills on Sunday Night Football.
In addition to Bosa, the 49ers are expected to be without starting tackle Trent Williams. Quarterback Brock Purdy has been a limited participant through two days of practice. Purdy could end up being a game-time decision for the 49ers.
