Buffalo Bills are officially depleted at one position after starter gets hurt against Dolphins

The Buffalo Bills can’t catch a break when it comes to injuries on defense.

During Thursday night’s matchup against the Miami Dolphins, star linebacker Terrel Bernard appeared shaken up after a play in the first quarter.

Bernard came off to the field and headed straight into the medical tent. ESPN’s Alaina Getzenberg further reported that when he came off the field he appeared to be gesturing to his upper body.

The linebacker came out of the medical tent and put his helmet back on, but soon after, he departed for the locker room.

The Bills originally listed him as questionable to return with a pectoral injury, but he was later ruled out.

Baylon Spector went into the game for Bernard.

This is the last thing the Bills needed after they already lost Matt Milano.

Milano suffered a season-ending leg injury in Week 5 of the 2023 season, but was making good progress during training camp and appeared to be a full go. However, he suffered a bicep injury during a non-player tackling drill during training camp.

It was later reported that he was out with a torn bicep and he underwent surgery. The earliest he could return is December.

So being down Milano and Bernard is the last thing this team needs.

In the Bills season opener, Bernard finished the game with 11 total tackles.

He had a strong 2023 campaign where he finished with 143 total tackles, 6.5 sacks, three fumble recoveries, and three interceptions.
