The Buffalo Bills have made adjustments to their roster, promoting seasoned offensive lineman Will Clapp while placing rookie offensive tackle Tylan Grable on injured reserve.
Grable, 24, was injured during Monday’s 47-10 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars. He did not practice Wednesday due to a groin injury, according to the team’s official injury report. This injury is expected to sideline him for multiple weeks, head coach Sean McDermott said.
Grable, a sixth-round draft pick in April out of Central Florida, had earned the role of swing tackle, backing up starters Dion Dawkins and Spencer Brown.
Ryan Van Demark, who previously held the swing tackle position, could potentially resume this role. Van Demark has been a healthy inactive the first three games.
Clapp, 28, brings valuable experience to the offensive line, with the ability to play both guard and center. He has participated in 65 NFL games, including 21 starts during his time with the Los Angeles Chargers and New Orleans.
To fill the practice squad vacancy, the Bills have signed wide receiver Ahmarean Brown. Brown, who entered the league as an undrafted free agent, previously played for the Cleveland Browns.
His collegiate career saw him record impressive stats – 92 receptions for 1,136 yards and 11 total touchdowns – while playing for Georgia Tech (2019-20) and South Carolina (2021-23).
