You may say that grown-ups are getting lots of headaches because of snow fallings, but apparently this rule doesn’t work at pandas. After a major snowfall in the D.C. region, a family of giant pandas at National Zoo were caught on camera having the time of their lives.
A good snow day is a favorite of everybody. Although most animals, including dogs and horses, like the snow, none of them enjoy it as much as these adorable pandas do. Giant pandas Mei Xiang and Tian Tian may be seen playing in the snow like a group of children in a now-viral YouTube clip. They’re enjoying a moment of “pure panda bliss” as they roll and slide through the snow. The panda baby Xiao Qi Ji, who is enjoying his first snowfall, prefers to gaze rather than tread on that large white coat while the two adult pandas are having so much fun in the snow.
One of the baby pandas at the Smithsonian Zoo in Washington, D.C., was filmed having fun in the snow. While many social media users appear to enjoy the video because they think it adorable, it also demonstrates how the cub has developed over the last year. A giant panda baby named Xiao Qi Ji was born in August 2020 at the Smithsonian Zoo. The zoo claims that the panda baby first encountered snow in January 2021.
But, when a snowfall occurred in January, cameras captured the panda having fun in the snow. The cub can be seen rolling around in the snow, shoving some snow in its face, and rolling down a hill in the footage. The Smithsonian Zoo posted the video on Facebook with the remark, “New year, new Xiao Qi Ji! Our gigantic panda baby was a little hesitant when he encountered snow for the first time in January 2021. The 16-month-old rolled around in the new snow this morning and reveled in the first snow day of the year. His belly-sliding prowess is perfect.
Xiao Qi Ji is well-liked by zoo visitors and frequently appears on the zoo’s video channels. The panda, for instance, was shown on camera having fun in one of the enclosure’s ponds just a few days prior to the blizzard. The zoo has made a list of its most well-liked videos to mark the year’s end. The ninth most popular moment of the year was when Xiao Qi Ji tried a sweet potato for the first time.
