Before the season began, a poll of 103 NFL players named Josh Allen the league’s most overrated quarterback.
Allen received 11 votes in the anonymous poll.
Any doubts about Allen’s abilities were quickly put to rest after his Week 1 performance against the Arizona Cardinals.
The Buffalo Bills quarterback led his team to a 34-28 victory, overcoming a 14-point deficit.
Allen threw for two touchdowns and ran for two more, finishing the game with a 137.7 passer rating.
Following his impressive performance, members of the media and current players came to Allen’s defense.
Bills pass rusher Von Miller expressed his confidence in Allen, stating that the team always believes they have a chance to win with him as their quarterback.
Cardinals tight end Trey McBride also praised Allen, acknowledging his skills as a passer and a runner. McBride called Allen a “very, very good quarterback” and expressed excitement to see how the Bills perform this season.
