The Green Bay Packers are entering a massive week. On Thursday Night Football to begin Week 14, the Packers will hit the road to take on the Detroit Lions.
With the Lions currently leading the NFC North holding an 11-1 record, the Packers have a chance to close the gap.
Green Bay will come into this week’s game with a 9-3 record. They have been playing great football over the last couple of weeks and will look to win their fourth straight game on Thursday night.
All of that being said, beating Detroit is a lot easier said than done.
Green Bay Packers Reveals Huge Injury Update on Star WR
In order to defeat the Lions, the Green Bay Packers will need to bring their best. Thankfully, they have received a positive injured update ahead of this week’s game.
As shared by Matt Schneidman of The Athletic, head coach Matt LaFleur has given the update that star wide receiver Romeo Doubs is still in concussion protocol, but he has advanced to the stage where he can practice.
That bodes well for his potential availability for the game against the Lions.
Doubs has not had a huge statistical season, but he has been an important weapon for the offense. He has played in 10 games, catching 34 passes for 483 yards and two touchdowns. He’s always a consistent wide receiver who has made quite a few timely plays for quarterback Jordan Love throughout the season.
Getting the 24-year-old wideout back on the field would open up the offense even more.
Detroit is currently dealing with quite a few injuries on the defensive side of the football. In order to win this week, the Packers need to take advantage of those injuries with a strong offensive showing.
If the Green Bay Packers can get Doubs back on the field, they’ll have a much better chance to put together a big game offensively and come away with a huge NFC North rivalry win.
