Green Bay Packers Running Back Josh Jacobs Having Spectacular 2024 Season

Green Bay Packers Running Back Josh Jacobs has been having a spectacular season for the team this season. He spent the first five seasons of his career with the Las Vegas Raiders and signed a four-year $48 million contract with the Green Bay Packers in March. He was a solid running back with Vegas, but he has flourished in Matt LaFleur’s system.

Jacobs has been one of the best running backs in the NFL this season and has been overshadowed by the success of Baltimore Ravens Running Back Derrick Henry and Philadelphia Eagles Running Back Saquon Barkley this year. Henry has experienced a career resurgence in Baltimore while Barkley is on pace to set the single-season rushing record.

Even with a great season, Jacobs was the third-best running back acquisition this offseason. Jacobs is fourth in the league in carries, fourth in rushing yards, and tied for fifth in rushing touchdowns. Will Jacobs be able to keep up his pace and help propel the Green Bay Packers on a deep playoff run?

Green Bay Packers Season Summary

Green Bay(9-4) is third in a very competitive NFC North. They are two games behind the Minnesota Vikings and three behind the Detroit Lions. Green Bay currently occupies the No. 2 spot in the NFC wildcard picture. The Packers have been powered by a great offense this season, and Jacobs has been an integral part of that. They are fifth in the league in total offense and fifth in rushing yards per game.

Quarterback Jordan Love has been sidelined at various times this season, and Jacobs has helped keep the team afloat without their star quarterback. The Packers defense has also been stellar this season as they are 13th in the league in yards allowed and ninth in points allowed.

Final Thoughts

The Packers have a tough game tomorrow as they head on the road to face the Seattle Seahawks. This will be a crucial game for both sides as they fight for playoff positioning over the season’s final month. Green Bay will look to keep pace in a competitive wildcard race and the Seahawks have little margin of error if they want to win the NFC West.

If Jacobs can keep up his torrid pace, the Green Bay Packers will be a team no one wants to see come playoff time. The Packers had the San Francisco 49ers on the ropes last season for a trip to the NFC Championship and will look to have greater playoff success in 2025.
