Heading into the Wild Card round on Sunday, Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love was facing arguably one of the best defenses in the NFL. The Philadelphia Eagles’ defense is known to pack game disruptors from the front to the back.
That meant he had to find ways to get his receivers open, while also taking care of the ball. The Eagles’ defense’ abilities showed up early as he was brought down twice by rising star Nolan Smith Jr. but Love held on to the ball, avoiding turnovers off fumbles.
He then proceeded to attempt 33 throws at a Christian Watson less receiving group. Without Watson leading the line, the rest could only haul in 20 of those attempts. But what baffled fans watching were three turnovers that seemingly changed the game.
The first was early in the second quarter when Love targeted WR Dontayvion Wicks on a go route. Excellent coverage from Darius Slay Jr. saw the ball drop right into his hands to register the first interception.
The next was at the end of the same quarter when Love threw it down the middle of the field to a cutting Malik Heath. However, he did not see Eagles standout linebacker Zack Baun and threw right into his hands. It was even more inexplicable when he had TE Tucker Kraft wide open in his line of sight.
The third was a pure example of desperation. With less than two minutes left and his Green Bay Packers down 12 points, Jordan Love heaved it to the end zone. However, three Eagles were covering WR Bo Melton, who had no chance as rookie standout CB Quinyon Mitchell streaked in to grab the ball.
Fans tear into Jordan Love for his interceptions in the Wild Card game
The Philadelphia Eagles also struggled on offense throughout the game. Had they got things going, they could have scored on those turnovers. Even if they didn’t, fans were not happy with what they saw.

For many fans, three interceptions were a summary of what they saw from Jordan Love all season. Some believe he did not do enough this season as the Green Bay Packers lost to strong playoff teams.
They feel Love has to elevate his game if his team has to have any chance in the playoffs. With another season ending in disappointment, fans took to social media to vent their frustrations.
Jordan Love signed on the dotted lines to become one of the highest paid players in the NFL. His performances tonight were anything but what is expected from a player earning that much. Packers fans will want more from their team and especially from their quarterback.
