It’s rivalry week for the Buffalo Bills as they welcome the Miami Dolphins to Orchard Park.
Say what you want about Josh Allen, but one consistent factor about his game is that he always finds a way to dominate the Miami Dolphins. Ever since being drafted in 2018, Allen and the Bills have taken over this rivalry with Miami and have yet to be truly outplayed by them.
Allen has an 11-2 regular season record against the Dolphins, with also having a playoff win over them as well. He has 42 career touchdowns to just 12 turnovers. What Tom Brady was to the Bills for nearly two decades, is what Allen is to the Dolphins.
Allen typically has his best performance of the season against the Dolphins. However, Week 2 was a little bit of a different story for him. Even though the Bills completely crushed the Dolphins 31-10, it wasn’t because of Allen’s production. The week prior, Allen injured his hand that didn’t have him at 100% health. It turned into the James Cook show with three total touchdowns.
The Bills are set to host the Dolphins today in Orchard Park and both teams are completely different phases of their seasons. Buffalo is coming in at 6-2 with a commanding lead in the AFC East while Miami finally has Tua Tagovailoa back under center after missing action from Week 3-Week 8 from a concussion he suffered against the Bills in Week 2.
Not only do the Bills have a phenomenal chance to take an even bigger lead on the division, Josh Allen has the chance to keep climbing the rankings in Bills franchise history. It seems like each week Allen is getting closer and closer to being near the top of most categories in Bills history.
According to the Buffalo Bills PR X account, Allen has the chance to climb the history ranks in three different ways. If Allen gets one passing touchdown, he will pass Joe Ferguson for the second-most passing touchdowns in team history. If Allen is able to rush for 35 yards, he will pass for Bills running back Travis Henry for the fifth-most rushing yards in franchise history. Finally, if Allen has one rushing touchdown against Miami, he will tie former Bills running back O.J. Simpson for the second-most rushing touchdowns in team history.
Josh Allen will look to keep making history against the perfect opponent
It’s safe to say that when it comes to Allen facing off against the Dolphins, he has the advantage and it’s not even close. The Dolphins are no match for Allen and they always have a tough time stopping him. Add that factor in and also include the fact that Allen has the chance to make multiple types of history in front of Bills Mafia.
