Josh Allen’s Bills Becoming What They Feared Most In Tom Brady Era

Buffalo’s dominance over Miami in recent seasons is rivaled only by what Tom Brady did to them for two decades.

For the better part of two decades, the Buffalo Bills were the consistent punching bag for Tom Brady and the New England Patriots.

While the Miami Dolphins and New York Jets each enjoyed some minor success over the team of the 2000s and 2010s, the Bills never could figure out Brady. The 3-33 record against him tells the story.

Perhaps it is divine intervention, or the football gods beginning to repay Bills’ fans for sticking with the team during those dark years, but the roles have reversed in Buffalo.

No longer are they the punching bag for an elite quarterback in their division. Instead, they are the ones who have the elite quarterback. And unlike with Brady, the Dolphins are the ones who have become the punching bag.

Buffalo’s 30-27 win over Miami Sunday afternoon provided another season sweep of the fish for the Bills. It was also Josh Allen’s 12th win against the franchise since he was drafted to the team in 2018.

His overall record against the Dolphins? 12-2.

No, it’s not quite like having a 33-3 record against Buffalo, but Allen’s exploits are the closest thing the AFC East has seen to divisional dominance since Brady left for Tampa Bay and retired.

It doesn’t matter how close the games actually are, Allen and the Bills will find a way to defeat the pesky Dolphins. That fact showed out on Sunday.

Despite knowing the Dolphins desperately needed a win three games under .500, Allen threw for over 230 yards and three touchdown passes to get the team in position to win at the end of the contest.

Tyler Bass’ 61-yard field goal was all she wrote after that.
