He was traveling through the desert when he came across an abandoned puppy that refused to be left behind.
Noah Hais was driving his Sprinter van through the desert with his two dogs when he stopped for a break. As he got out, he saw a small puppy waiting for him when he opened the door to step out.
He could tell the puppy wasn’t in good shape and she appeared to be all alone. He offered her food, but she wasn’t eating well, was skin and bones, and had a skin infection.

Hoping she belonged to someone, he went to a shop nearby to ask about her. They confirmed that she had been dumped a few days before but obviously didn’t care enough to help her.
Having two dogs of his own and living in an apartment, Noah didn’t have room for another dog. But his heart went out to the puppy. He told himself that if the puppy was still waiting for him after he used the restroom, he would figure something out.
Of course, the puppy was still waiting with a wagging tail. Knowing he had to help her, he slowly introduced her to his other two dogs, Milo and Moose. She was very shy with the dogs, but the introductions went fine.

He then made a plan to take her to the rescue where he got Moose from and left the door of the van open. She climbed inside and they started to drive to the rescue. But in the meantime, he shared her on social media and began to get responses.
But the responses were not offers to adopt her. Rather they were encouraging him to keep her. The trouble was, he couldn’t have another dog in his apartment but by then, he fell in love with her and was grateful she was safe.

Then something amazing happened. Social media stepped up to the plate and raised funds so that he could break his lease and move into new housing with the puppy. He named her Mowgli and when they got home, they quickly moved into a place with room for the four of them.
Mowgli got healthy and soon turned out to be the dog Noah didn’t know he needed. Now his other two dogs have a new little sister to love who adds a ton of excitement to their home.
They are a happy family all because his heart went out to an abandoned dog on the side of the road.
