New details emerge about Kirk Cousins in upcoming Netflix series

Last week, it was revealed that Kirk Cousins of the Minnesota Vikings is one of three passers from around the NFL that will be featured in the Netflix docu-series “Quarterback”, which is scheduled to debut in July on the streaming app.

The series supposedly provides behind-the-scenes access to Cousins, Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs, and Marcus Mariota of the Atlanta Falcons from their journeys through the entire 2022 NFL season.

Apparently, Cousins was the one who provided the show’s creators with some of the best content out of the three quarterbacks.

Minnesota Vikings QB Kirk Cousins was reportedly an “open book” during recording of Netflix series

The first episode of “Quarterback” isn’t expected to be available until July, but NBC Sports’ Peter King was able to recently discover some details about the show that should intrigue Vikings fans.

NFL Films’ executive producer Keith Cossrow revealed to King that Cousins “was an open book” during filming and that the Minnesota quarterback gave them “the best access [they’ve] gotten with a player in [NFL Films] history.”

Cossrow also shared a small story with King about one scene from the show that involves Cousins after the Vikings’ Week 3 win over the Detroit Lions.

“The first episode in the series will end with an incredible moment. In the Detroit-Minnesota game in week three, the Vikings win, but Kirk has a significant overthrow on what would have been a TD.

So after the game, he lets the crew go home with him to his big family gathering, and there’s a firepit in the backyard, and the kids are eating ‘smores. Everyone leaves, and it’s kind of dark, and Kirk’s there, and he’s beating himself up over the overthrow. Captured beautifully. That was the first cue, to me, that we’re going to get what we’re after here.”

Will Cousins end up becoming a “Netflix star” as King labeled him after finding out these details about the show?

Who knows? But at the very least, many Minnesota fans will likely be tuning in to see if Cousins’ performance in “Quarterback” ends up living up to the hype that has been built by King and Cossrow.
