Packers’ Jordan Love forced to share NFL award with Caleb Williams

The Packers-Bears rivalry is going to get interesting.

A new rivalry is emerging in the NFC North.

They haven’t battled in the NFL yet, but Jordan Love and Caleb Williams are two of the most exciting young quarterbacks in the league, giving the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears hope for a deep postseason run.

Love missed two games but had the Packers’ offense humming against the Arizona Cardinals last week, while Williams has hit his stride after making a slow start to his rookie year.

Last week, Love completed 68.8 percent of his passes for 258 yards and four touchdowns with one interception in the Packers’ win over the Cardinals. Williams was every bit as impressive in London against the Jacksonville Jaguars, completing 79.3 percent of his passes for 226 yards and four touchdowns with one pick.

The Packers and Bears share a 4-2 record. Nothing can separate them, and apparently, nothing could separate the two quarterbacks last week.

Jordan Love and Caleb Williams named FedEx Air and Ground Players of the Week

Who had the better performance in Week 6? Both quarterbacks were nominated for the FedEx Air and Ground Players of the Week award, and, well, they both won.

They beat Jared Goff, Joe Mixon, Derrick Henry, and Sean Tucker for the award.

Who is better, Love or Williams? Ask a Packers fan, and they will tell you Love. A Bears fan will almost certainly choose Williams. That’s what makes a great rivalry and shows how talented both players are. Love has provided more proof in the NFL that he can do it, but Williams was the first overall pick for a reason, and we’re beginning to see why.

It should lead to a fascinating rivalry between the two teams, beginning when the Packers visit Soldier Field in Week 11.

No player has had more passing touchdowns than Love’s 44 since the start of last season, when he became the Packers’ starter. Williams aims to prove why he’s the next star quarterback in the NFL, and with six touchdown passes in his past two games, he is showing that potential.

Packers and Bears fans might not like it, but Love and Williams have to share the award this week.

However, there is a tiebreaker. Love took home his second Nickelodeon NVP award for his Week 6 performance. Williams has zero.

So, have that.

Williams is talented, and his recent performances understandably have Packers fans concerned. But we’re more than happy with Love under center in Green Bay.

Bears fans can come back to us when Williams wins an NVP award.
