Rookie Tight End Poised for Breakout Game on Monday Night Football

The Buffalo Bills, fresh off a Thursday night victory against the Miami Dolphins, turn their attention to another Florida team in Week 3: the Jacksonville Jaguars. While the opponents share a home state, the similarities end there. The Jaguars have presented a challenge for the Bills, winning their last two encounters.

Their most recent matchup took place in London in Week 5 of the 2023 season, with the Jaguars having the advantage of already being acclimated to the time difference. Prior to that, the Jaguars defeated the Bills in Jacksonville during Trevor Lawrence’s rookie year, a low-scoring affair that many Bills fans would rather forget.

This year feels different. The Jaguars are 0-2, while the Bills are riding high at 2-0.

This game carries significant weight for both teams. Jacksonville desperately needs a win to salvage their season and keep playoff hopes alive.

The Bills, on the other hand, are looking to maintain their momentum heading into a tough Week 4 matchup against Baltimore on the road.

One way the Bills can overcome their past struggles against the Jaguars is to get tight end Dalton Kincaid more involved in the offense. The Jaguars have been playing the most man coverage in the league, and Kincaid’s unique skillset could exploit mismatches at the second level of the defense. He possesses the speed to outrun linebackers and the size to overpower safeties and cornerbacks.

Despite entering the season with high expectations, including the potential to be the Bills’ top target in the passing game, Kincaid’s impact has been limited through the first two weeks. While the Bills’ offense has adopted an “everyone eats” mentality, this could be the game where Kincaid breaks out, racking up yards, catches, and potentially his first NFL touchdown.
