The latest rumor has the Cowboys trading for a former NFL Defensive Player of the year and one of the top cornerbacks over the past deacde.

According to multiple reports, the Cowboys have been in talks with the Indianapolis Colts in hopes of landing Super Bowl champion and two-time All Pro cornerback Stephon Gilmore. In exchange Dallas would send the Colts a package including offensive lineman Matt Farniok as well as draft picks.

After Dallas lost starting cornerback Anthony Brown to a torn achilles in week 13 of last season, it was a struggle for them to find a suitable replacement to start opposite Trevon Diggs. Gilmore would be a perfect fit and even though he is getting up there in age as he will be 33 at the start of next season, he is coming off a very productive season.
Gilmore started 16 games for the Colts last season, setting a new career high with 66 tackles, he also had two interceptions and eleven passes defended. Even at age 32 he was very durable as he played in 99 percent of the defensive snaps and allowed a very impressive 56.2 completion percentage on passes thrown his way.
This is the exact type of trade that Jerry Jones loves to pull off and we will see in the upcoming weeks if he and the Colts are able to come to an agreement to bring Stephon Gilmore to the lone star state.
