It seems the Blackhawks have the next Nikita Kucherov in the KHL, with the Metallurg Magnitogorsk.
His name is Roman Kantserov, and has had a brilliant showing in the MHL, the league below the KHL.
His points per game production has outshone, the Tampa Bay Lightning superstar Kucherov, as Kantserov is 6th all-time in this metric:
– Just a reminder that #Blackhawks prospect Roman Kantserov’s D-1 points per game production was 6th all-time among MHL prospects at 1.04.
That’s higher than Nikita Kucherov.

It sounds like this is the best kind of foreboding for a future NHLer, especially if he’s better than Nikita Kucherov!
In the last two seasons, Kantserov played 53 games in the KHL, scoring 15 points( 8 G, 7 A), and played 45 games in the MHL with Magnitogorsk’s junior club scoring 54 points(27 G, 27 A).
Is he a generational talent that was just skipped over in 2023 for Matvei Michkov?
We’ll see when he finally arrives in the Windy City.
