Tony Romo feels Jalen Hurts’ Eagles are “real” Super Bowl contenders after humiliating the Cowboys

The NFC East’s biggest rivalry has been between the Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles. Every year, these two teams fight for the top spot in the division, and it usually comes down to the wire to determine who is the top dog. However, this year there is no question regarding who is better.

Following Sunday’s 34-6 beatdown of the Cowboys by the Eagles on the team’s home turf, it was clear as day that Philadelphia is legit. Last night’s performance was convincing enough for a member of Dallas’ Ring of Honor to admit that Jalen Hurts and the Eagles are Super Bowl contenders this year.

Tony Romo, who played for the Cowboys for 12 seasons, was impressed with what he saw from the Eagles.

The way they’re playing, the offensive line is dominating football games. We all talk about Barkley and Hurts, they’ve got so many weapons, but this starts upfront, D-line and O-line. They are dominating right now and are real Super Bowl contenders.

Tony Romo said at the end of last night

The Eagles are a top 6 offense in the NFL averaging 377.1 yards per game.

Jalen Hurts’ Eagles have mastered the run game on offense this season

The addition of Saquon Barkley during free agency solidified the Eagles’ offense. It comes as no surprise that the team ranks second in the NFL in terms of average rushing yards with 174.8 per game.

Jalen Hurts has been playing well this year and has improved by reducing his turnovers. Surprisingly, even with a respectable record, there is not much buzz around the Eagles.

Philadelphia is 7-2 this season. They lost to the Atlanta Falcons by a narrow margin of 1 point, and the other game they lost was to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. However, the concern is, apart from Green Bay and Atlanta, the team has not been challenged enough. But that question should be answered in the final stretch of their season.

If the Philadelphia Eagles intend to make a serious statement that they are Super Bowl contenders, then they will need to beat the Washington Commanders next week and in Week 16, as that is the only threat in their hopes to win the division.

They will face the Ravens in Week 13 and the Steelers in Week 15. Each of these games is important for Philadelphia to win, as it would speak volumes about them being considered a contender to play in the big game.
