What Positions Do Bills Need to Keep an Eye on During Waiver Wire?

The Buffalo Bills as a roster believe they are good enough to compete with some of the top teams in the NFL.

That doesn’t mean they will stand pat as organizations choose which players are to stay on the 53-man roster, and which ones are subject to waivers. For a team like the Bills with limited overall depth due to major injuries, they should expect to be major players along the waiver wire to improve the roster.

And three positions make the most sense there:

Linebacker

The Bills can say they are confident all they want in the depth of their linebackers after Matt Milano’s injury, but that doesn’t mean they should be out on any waiver players.

Safety

Two safeties have been placed on IR Sunday – a sign that the depth of the team in the back end has taken a difficult hit overall. Finding competent safeties on the waiver wire won’t be easy, but certainly something Buffalo should be focusing on.

Offensive Line

Buffalo’s depth along the offensive line was shown to be mediocre at best during the preseason. Whether it’s by waiver pickups or via trade, the Bills need to do everything possible to improve the depth of this group.
