Arron Mosby entered the Green Bay Packers’ preseason finale against the Baltimore Ravens as a long shot to make the 53-man roster.

But did the defensive end’s standout performance on Saturday earn him a coveted spot?

Mosby certainly played like a player who was doing everything he could to make that happen. He was a beast on the field on back-to-back possessions in the second quarter. First, he had a strip sack that led to a scoop and score. Then on the Ravens’ next drive he had an interception. Two plays, two highlights.

Mosby led the way for a defense that had four takeaways in the team’s 30-7 win in front of the home fans at Lambeau Field.

The preseason is all about opportunities. And with head coach Matt LaFleur electing to sit all of the team’s starters again, players like Mosby get their chance to step up and make an impression. He certainly did

Mosby is a third-year pro out of Fresno State who has spent most of his career so far on practice squads.

After going undrafted in 2022, the Carolina Panthers signed Mosby as a rookie free agent. He was cut after training camp but the Panthers signed him to the practice squad. They activated him for two games early in the season where he only played on special teams. This is his second training camp with the Packers. He was released by the Packers at the end of camp last year before he was signed to the practice squad.

Mosby signed a one-year reserve/futures contract in early January with the Packers.

He has yet to record any defensive stats in an NFL game. He played snaps on special teams during a Week 2 game for the Panthers in the 2022 season. But he spent much of that season on the Panthers’ practice squad.

He was part of the Packers’ practice squad in 2023.

Where did Arron Mosby play in college?

Mosby spent five years at Fresno State (2017-21).

He earned honorable mention All-Mountain West honors as a fifth-year senior in 2021. He had 40 tackles, six sacks and a team-high 15.5 tackles for a loss. His 3.5 tackles for a loss at Oregon were the fourth-most in a game by a Fresno State player in 21 years.



His six forced fumbles led all of college football and were the most ever for a Fresno State player.
