Dog Insists On Cuddling Dad In Water For The Sweetest Reason

The loving pup is always ready for an adventure, whether it’s trekking or swimming. Even the most daring thrill seekers are terrified at times, especially when there is water involved.

So, when Navó is frightened, his father encourages him in the greatest manner he knows how: by giving him a big hug.

Navó’s mom, Nathalie Weusten, is always charmed by her loving dog’s insistence on swim cuddles.

Weusten believes Navó enjoys embracing because he wants to feel comfortable, he wants to ensure the safety of his family, and he just enjoys being cuddled.

“Navó loves to swim and is good at it, but [he] feels most secure when he is near one of us,” Weusten told The Dodo. “He hates it when one of us is too far away in the water, especially when swimming, as he thinks we might be in danger. We cuddle a lot, [so] I think it also makes him feel safe.”

Navó is no stranger to water. His father, Donald Hillebregt, is a triathlete. Hillebregt likes to bring Navó to training sessions whenever feasible. Navó, who seizes any opportunity to be with his loved ones, is always eager to join in.

When he’s not swimming, the friendly, inquisitive dog enjoys to play fetch and observe the huge world around him.

“He loves to observe everyone and everything,” Weusten said. “He is very social [and] gets along well with everyone.”

Navó has rapidly proven to be the perfect pet for them. Furthermore, when Hillebregt is gone training or competing in races, Navó is always available to provide Weusten with much-needed company and companionship.

“We are really inseparable,” Weusten said. “I love him so much … you could say [he is] literally my dream come true!”
