Scorching Heat Can’t Stop Bills Star’s Pursuit of NFL History

The Buffalo Bills traveled to Miami for a Week 2 matchup against the Dolphins. The heat and humidity of South Florida presented a challenge for the Bills, but their quarterback, Josh Allen, had historically dominated the Dolphins. Miami’s only two wins against Allen came during his rookie season and in a game where extreme heat sidelined several Bills players.

Miami received the opening kickoff but quickly found themselves trailing. Tua Tagovailoa’s pass was intercepted by Ja’Marcus Ingram, giving the Bills excellent field position.

Buffalo opted to go for it on fourth down inside the red zone, and the gamble paid off. Allen connected with running back James Cook for a 17-yard touchdown.

The score gave Allen his 226th career total touchdown, moving him past Peyton Manning and Dan Marino for second-most in a player’s first seven seasons.

The touchdown was another milestone in Allen’s already historic career. The previous week, in a win against the Arizona Cardinals, Allen tied Steve Young’s record for most games with at least two passing touchdowns and two rushing touchdowns.

Allen’s dominance against the Dolphins adds another layer of significance to his achievements. As long as he can stay healthy, Allen appears poised to continue rewriting the Bills’ record books.
